A good citizen,
It will not arbitrarily impose itself to make the rules unilaterally.

Everyone wants not to be treated arbitrarily,
Everyone wants not to be cheated,
Not just you.
We can not be naive,
As if we alone have the right to them,
While others have only an obligation to us.
Everyone also feels entitled, not just you.
There is a right,
Means at the same time there is an inherent obligation to ourselves.
Therefore a harmonious life is based on a form of balance between one's own rights and obligations,
Against the rights and duties of others.
That is what is called the law of reciprocity,
The principle of reciprocity.
There is no place for citizens who intend to make their own rules for the existence of other people's lives.

Seorang warga negara yang baik,
Tidak akan secara seenaknya memaksakan diri untuk membuat aturan main sendiri.
Untuk membentuk negara yang kokoh,
Dibutuhkan kerelaan penduduk dan para rakyatnya untuk bersikap patuh,
Melepas berbagai sikap arogansi maupun ego pribadi.
Mengapa hal ini menjadi sangat penting dalam hidup bermasyarakat dan di setiap komunitas sesama warga?
Apakah menurut pendapatmu,
Akan dapat menjadi menarik, menyaksikan pertandingan sepak bola bila para pihak yang bertanding saling membuat aturan main sendiri?
Apa juga yang akan terjadi,
Bila para pengendara kendaraan di jalan raya membuat aturan main sendiri dalam berkendara?
Tidak pada tempatnya,
Bila kita berkehendak untuk mengutamakan kepentingan pribadi diatas kepentingan publik.
Aturan dibentuk untuk kebaikan bersama,
Bukan untuk kepentingan segelintir pihak tertentu.
Setiap warga masyarakat sejajar dan setara harkat serta martabatnya,
Apapun status dan derajat ekonominya.
Semua orang berhak untuk mempertahankan hidup,
Semua orang berhak untuk mencari nafkah.
Semua orang berhak untuk menjaga harta miliknya,
Semua orang berhak untuk bebas dari rasa takut disakiti orang lain,
Semua orang berhak untuk bebas dari penipuan ataupun perampasan secara paksa,
Semua orang berhak untuk menentukan nasib sendiri,
Semua orang berhak untuk tidak didikte,
Semua orang berhak untuk bersuara dan menyampaikan aspirasinya,
Semua orang berhak untuk menolak dimanipulasi ataupun diperas,
Bukan hanya Anda.
Semua orang ingin dihargai,
Semua orang ingin diperlakukan secara hormat,
Semua orang ingin diperlakukan secara adil,
Semua orang ingin tidak diperlakukan secara sewenang-wenang,
Semua orang ingin tidak dicurangi,
Bukan hanya Anda.
Kita tidak dapat bersikap naif,
Seolah hanya kita sendiri yang memiliki hak terhadap mereka,
Sementara orang lain hanya memiliki kewajiban terhadap kita.
Semua orang juga merasa berhak,
Bukan hanya engkau.
Ada hak,
Berarti disaat bersamaan terdapat kewajiban yang melekat pada diri kita sendiri.
Oleh karenanya kehidupan yang harmonis dilandasi oleh sebentuk keseimbangan antara hak dan kewajiban diri sendiri,
Terhadap hak dan kewajiban orang lain.
Itulah yang disebut sebagai hukum resiprositas,
Prinsip timbal-balik.
Tidak ada tempat bagi warga yang berniat untuk membuat aturan main sendiri terhadap eksistensi hidup masyarakat lainnya.
